Yard sale yields

Two top finds at this year’s Tufnell Park Yard Sale (quite possibly the poshest of its genre I’ve yet been to, and one where I have to restrain myself from House Envy, Garden Envy, and indeed, Cat Envy – some very cute specimens surveying the scene). The Yard Sale was a welcome discovery last year in terms of feeling at home in the new neighbourhood, albeit from a few blocks away on, quite literally, the wrong side of the (Overground) tracks. In and amongst the many tables of children’s clothes and toys were a few offerings from the parents, and while I was never going to fit into the cast-offs from the yoga mummies, I’m liking this warm & practical Toast overshirt (£5, above). D, meanwhile, has been eyeing up the pricey wares in an Upper Street, Islington shop called Albam and I was happy to oblige him with one of their cotton shirts for £1. It’s got nice stitched detailing on the pockets and sleeves.
