The television table

IMG_1247Funny how interesting stuff keeps emerging at my grandmother’s house. Well, given the extreme hoarding tendencies up my matrilineal line, actually not a surprise at all. Still, I hadn’t seen this small mid-century table before, as it had been in the garage under piles of Other Random Stuff for, ooh, decades. Apparently it supported a television set in its original usage (circa. 1960s-70s, my mother remembers), and then it was relegated outside to become a garage work-surface. While the top has a cheap-looking plywood veneer, the legs are pleasingly Ercol-like (chair next to it is the real deal) and it’s a very good size for my conservatory (to go with that chair). Just when I thought I was bringing no more furniture into my house. Oh well.
