Pick of the pottery

us_october8It’s been a while since I reported some crockery or pottery, but I couldn’t hold out indefinitely. Hornsea* sugar jar, 20p from a jumble sale in Balcombe, because I liked the font. Plus, below are three of four black Denby mugs (jumble sale in Lindfield). Not quite sure where the fourth has disappeared to already: into the Mug Void otherwise known as the lodger’s bedroom, I fear… (hello Simon! Just teasing!). There have been other vintage crockery-related finds as well, but they are destined for the kitchens of friends, not to further clutter up my own shelves, and I’m not going to spoil any, err, Christmas present surprises.

*Interestingly, I can’t identify this pattern. It’s not Bronte, Heirloom, Saffron or the other ’70s designs, but does have the Hornsea stamp on the bottom. Might be some later retro reissue. Any ideas?
