Earth tones and monochromes

After a disappointing weekend last week, this week’s jumbling has been better: a wet, windy wait at Cooksbridge was worth it for the following finds. First up, hugely thick and large-sized Icelandic jumper (the label reads ‘The Handknitting Association of Iceland” – wonderful images conjured up of grannies in remote fishing villages clacking needles and looking out to sea at fishing trawlers) and a somewhat more flatteringly-shaped and less Yeti-like M&S black polo-neck. Next picture, striped T-shirt, a black merino wool base-layer kind of thing, and a strangely asymmetrical black linen sleeveless tunic thing which will either turn out to be totally unwearable or the best addition to my Summer 2015 wardrobe. Below, four Denby bowls; then a long, clingy grey wool skirt with side-split (no label) and, just for a bit of colour and some layering potential, a shocking pink vest. All clothes 30p each (bargain! That’s proper jumble sale pricing!) and the bowls £1. Not pictured: two unphotogenic base-layer men’s tops for D, one luminous yellow for cycling and the other a khaki Helly Hansen; plus a couple of household decoration-type things for C’s birthday…
