In the navy

IMG_0283A fisherman’s jersey – an expensive French Armor-lux, complete with all its anchor-embossed buttons across the shoulder – found in a charity shop by my mother. “The moth-holes are easily mendable”, she says, helpfully (cheers, mum). Still, you don’t come by these at an affordable price every day, the holes are only small and in  discreet places up the arms, and I don’t mind a bit of darning.
