In and amongst all the clothes-swapping chaos, a few things have crept in via my conventional channels as well. Vintage black leather-soled lace-ups, good quality and £2 from the Brighton Marina car boot sale; and a brand-new And Other Stories silk blouse, £8 from a stall at the Art Junky fair. Incidentally, now is a good time to note that I have had no problems whatsoever keeping my 2014 resolution on no new-shop purchases of clothes and shoes (underwear, socks and crucial basics like leggings excepted). With secondhand/preloved/recycled finds like these, it’s not been in any way a stretch. The shoes are slightly wide, though, designed for man-feet.
