Ex-Exmouth Market

It’s been a while since I made it to a jumble sale, and I only ended up at this one by accident: strolling down Exmouth Market on the way to Farringdon station on a Saturday morning, and spying a sign outside the church… Fittingly, the finds were suitably upmarket (and priced accordingly), and well-suited to my plan of putting together a suitably smart-casual and reasonably nondescript London capsule wardrobe for work purposes. Best find was a lightweight blue Gap collarless shirt, pictured with khaki greenish Uniqlo tunic-style T-shirt; the chino-material blue Kew mini-skirt is also a lightweight summer success, as is the black cotton tunic dress (very crumpled in this pic) with drawstring waistband (also Kew). Less successful: the houndstooth check woollen tunic – too short, too girly and babydoll – and the two pairs of M&S skinny jeans which looked barely-worn in the dim light of the church hall but which proved, upon daylight inspection, to have some tiny but highly unpleasant stains around the crotch, so straight to the bin. Win some, lose some, etc.P1010447P1010449
