This pink dress has featured in these pages before – it was a swap from Kim (late 2011; my, how time has flown), I lent/gave to Maria ages ago (can’t remember the original proviso), and now it has come back to me. Still with the original Debenhams labels on. I’m not quite sure why it has failed to find favour with all three of us, but I might try it on again before giving up and consigning it to the car boot sale pile. It must have some use – for wearing to a wedding, perhaps, although I believe that was the reason it went to Maria. With black, I don’t think it’d be too offensively pink.
And some more returns from Maria: some thick, proper vintage cotton bedsheets which were from my grandmother’s house, then at Lucy’s in the days when she took in foreign students, and now going up to the boat, where the bed is small enough for single sheets to be sufficient. The nice thing about these is that they have selvedge edges rather than hems – a crucial factor for an over-sheet, I reckon – and they’re still in great condition (that’s quality material for you). Oh, and Maria threw in a pair of striped pillowcases, too; lovely old thick cotton as well. Thanks, M!
