A fine winter outfit

usual shop 001usual shop 002Not to be worn together – well, maybe in an emergency situation? – but some useful cast-offs from my mother. Dressing gown – quilted, plus added-on embroidered panel – and wellies, both to keep on the boat. Both items her car boot sale/charity shop finds at some stage. The first for getting up in the night in the winter, the second for going out to fill up the water tank/empty the loo/fetch in the coal in wet weather. Speaking of the winter, we’re loving the Squirrel stove: stoke it up early evening, go out to the pub, come back to a toasty cabin, put a few more coals on and it’s still warm in the morning. D has bought a huge flamethrower-style device to get it all going at short notice as we can’t use wood or kindling in our smoke-regulated Basin.
