There are few things more satisfying, when Usual Shopping, than delving into an interesting ‘everything 50p’ pile at a car boot sale. Particularly after passing several stalls with overpriced vintage or hopeful attempts to get £20 for tatty mid-range modern dresses or High Street shoes just because they were £100-odd new. A 50p pile at the Brighton Racecourse car boot sale yielded the following: green/purple/pink paisley scarf (for me); red and yellow scarf (for D); boxy tweed M&S Chanel-alike jacket (Maria MZ? I can’t cope with the shoulder pads. it’s missing a button but you could move one from under the collar); padded cotton Chinese-style jacket (reversible, plain navy on the other side).
