Drop-leaf dining

usual shop 006A rather lovely little drop-leaf table, probably 1950s, with Formica-covered top: £35 from the Brighton Marina car boot sale. And why do I need a new table? For my new London home, of course. Only a part-time base – no intentions of leaving Brighton – but a solution to the interminable tedium and life-waste that is commuting. And a chance for a change of scenery, a different social life, and a whole new adventure. But there’s not a lot of space to fit in large items, hence a compact drop-leaf table which can also double as a work-desk… will explain more in subsequent posts.

I’ve done rather well in dividing up the contents of the house and finding sufficient necessities such as bedlinen, mugs, cutlery, towels, kitchen utensils and indeed, clothes and things in which to store them (not much space: baskets under the bed working well), though there were a few shortfalls. Another purchase the morning I bought the table: glass lemon squeezer, 50p from the Brighton Racecourse boot fair.
