Usual Shopping with someone else, with a project in mind, is often more fun than doing it solo. This isn’t related to my own crazy project (see below; more on this to follow) but Matthew’s pop-up community cycling cafe – Bean Cycling, at the Nutty Wizard, corner of South Street/Cliffe High Street Lewes, Sunday 25th/Monday 26th August, more details here. We had a successful morning’s collecting of cafetieres, milk jugs, teapots, tealight holders (for sugar, salt or pepper), Tupperware and other crockery at the Brighton Racecourse car boot sale, and then I managed to donate him a few items surplus to my own cupboards, including a set of lime-green saucers (which once had matching cups, long gone), a Breville sandwich toaster which had not seen the light of day for many years, and a few earthenware oddments. I believe this is called a win-win situation. Matthew also found a few vintage glass bottles which once contained acid, according to their labels, but I trust that these will be ornamental and for his own amusement rather than public consumption.
