The best bit about jumble sale-going is the entirely random nature of finds. Though fairly frequently one can go out with particular items in mind – and successfully find them, as regular readers here will know – it’s the unexpected bits and pieces that are often the best. Hours of reading-matter here (Train-commuting. Must have more books) and not necessarily anything I’d have gone looking for; a selection of cloth shopping bags – leftovers from events last year – to replace those of mine which are now worn out and washed-out; and, inevitably, a piece of pottery (very large, heavyweight jug, no potters’ mark, but nicely-glazed). All 20p/50p from Chiddingly.
