Slim but successful pickings

Didn’t think I had a particularly successful time at last Saturday’s jumble sale in Chailey, but in retrospect, didn’t do too badly at all. Three large and good-quality wine glasses (one’s one of those expensive Riedels) for £1, mitigating against breakages; a selection of books (though the Imperial War Museum one, transcripts of verbal recordings, is a carry-over from the week before, rather than one of this week’s finds); a herringbone-pattern tweed scarf for D and a black vintage-style blouse; and a loose rusty orange lightweight New Look polo neck, which looks like nothing on earth in this picture but which has proved absolutely perfect for Working At Home wear.
