The lady-like look

And another dress to add to the not-quite-right pile: Primark red-on-black patterned number, a very good fit and a very nice vintage-style shape, but just a shade too short and flouncy to be dignified on a woman my age. Someone shorter may get away with with it (Sarah M?). A couple of smart – if rather conservative – skirts: lilac Monsoon bias-cut silk, patterned corduroy Seasalt A-line, plus a chintzy M&S cardie (had one of these before, but felt too much like a Tory wife: Maria, as with the glittery Zara one last week, would it look better on you?). Plus a tiny Noa Noa green and gold puffball (Louisa?). All items 30/50p each from jumbles in Balcombe, Lindfield and Ditchling. Told y’all it was a good haul this week.

  1. The ‘Tory Wife’ reminds me of a much loved floral skirt i wore to death in the 90’s so, naturally, I want to try this cardi on and reclaim my inner teen. Oh yes!
