First picture: a random selection of books, 20p each from the Secret Animal Charity Shop (somewhere in East Sussex, one day I’ll share the secret), plus oven mitts (rock ‘n’ roll!) which my granny has turned out. I like the retro apple print one, in particular. As we frequently ruin these loading logs into the fire, they’ll be useful. Not that I want to think about winter and the need for a fire just yet, though at least when the cold weather does kick in, I’ll have plenty of reading matter. Second picture: a diverse collection of books from the annual (and excellent-as-ever) Crowborough Hospital Fete, including some art history texts rescued at the end for my cousin and his student mates.
