Summer shirts

The Usual Shop has been somewhat hindered lately by a dead camera, but normal service is now to be resumed… In the meantime, you can see that I have finally painted my new fitted cupboards. Hanging from the doors: one paisley shirt-dress/kaftan from my granny (not as frumpy as you’d think, with a wide belt, but probably not a keeper); one black polka dot shirt (Top Shop) for D (£3.50 from a charity shop on London Road); one cream linen shirt, probably Mexican, part of a  job lot of cheap workwear (50p per item, car boot sale, Brighton Marina). Not pictured; black  silk French Connection vest top (cheers, Maria) plus various items swapped around between us, some of which may have featured in these pages  before. Some more exciting finds to follow once I’ve retrieved them out of the laundry/wardrobe for their delayed photo-call. It’s probably worth noting that in the recent interim between posts there have been no jumble sales, but I have retrieved a disturbing number of items back out from the sacks put aside for a car boot sale, which is not so much a case of ‘shopping your closet’, as the Americans say, as ‘shopping your own cast-offs’. Some good stuff, I tell ya.

  1. I like your paisley shirt dress! I think it would be the perfect outfit when you feel like channelling a bohemian vibe for a day. Pair it with brown boots and you’re ready to go!
