Flying carpet

At some point this spring I will clear out the shed again and turn it back into a summerhouse-style hang-out (the famous garden room. Ha ha). New carpet for it: Persian-style rug, £5 from jumble sale in Forest Row, seen here airing on the washing line (it’s still out there – I believe in thorough quarantining, fumigation and isolation of such articles before letting them anywhere the house or other items). It’s rather worn and faded, but there’s no signs of animal hair (and thus a lower risk of fleas) and it’s good enough to tread mud, earth, snails and compost over in the shed. Though I am reasonably robust about other people’s cast-offs, I’m loath to bring it into the house. Well, perhaps the conservatory…
