After a disappointing foray to a jumble sale at Plumpton (always hit and miss there) I made a last-minute decision to detour home via Henfield to catch the end of proceedings there. I was expecting there to be little left – but bagged an armful of vintage items from the detritus. Seventies blue and purple maxi-dress (£1), shiny black taffeta full-skirted evening frock with high neck and wide sash (£1), tartan maxi-skirt (20p) and press-stud suede knee-length (20p), plus a pair of suede gloves (10p). I’m very annoyed that the gloves were too small for my large man-sized hands, though, and the long black frock was badly damaged around the hem (passed it on to a woman who’s going to chop a chunk off the bottom). The blue one has gone to a girl dressing up as Margo from The Good Life (I know not why).
