Bizarre jackets

Two very random efforts: brown velvet 1970s Jaeger jacket with dressing gown-style sash belt (horrendous on; I looked like a sack of potatoes with string round the middle) and a cropped red ’80s number which someone had customised (probably for a  Bonfire Society parade; shades of Adam Ant as the dandy highwayman). My mother has taken off the velvet and lace cuffs to use on a museum costume, as well as the shiny buttons, and left underneath is quite a nice retro jacket, for someone willing to brave shoulder pads, a double-breasted frontage and a silhouette that I just can’t get to grips with myself. Worth experimenting with for 20p, however (Ringmer jumble sale).
