Going to pots

Success on the stuff-reduction front. I managed to give away a set of striped garden chair cushions (from my mother) to C, along with five battered and slightly rusty Le Creuset saucepans and a frying pan (collected from car boot sales for a pound or so each), and another French cast-iron pan and casserole dish. I also gave C a couple of houseplants, aloe vera and a tray of lettuce seedlings; in return, I came home with  Californian poppies, a dark red acer, Cosmos and a pair of cauliflower seedlings, plus the promise of some wood for our stove. Fair swaps; I will – and do – always take in plants.
