Black dress barter

I was determined not to spend any money at the boot sale at Brighton Marina – my raison d’etre for being there this week was to sell things – but did a deal on this black crepe dress – probably ’40s or ’50s which I coveted. Swapped it with a regular trader – who deals in a lot of fabrics and household items – for the giant vine-patterned curtains (K had bought some for her new place, by the time I visited ) and I think we both considered this bartering a good result. I love the pleating and assymetrical drop-waist on this, though I might change the tacky gold buttons.
