Silk and a smirk

usual shop november 2009 019The bloke on the front of this ’60s knitting pattern made me smile: he’s now in a clip-frame in my study. He is modelling a very dodgy skinny-rib jumper with lacing at the front, and whilst he is doing his best to strike a pose, there’s just a hint of a smirk and a sense of the ridiculous on his made-up face.  He has ‘struggling actor’ or ‘would-be musician’ written all over him, too; he has my sympathies, though after this career nadir, he probably went off and got a job in a bank or something. Found him on a house-clearance stall at the BHASVIC car boot  sale, along with a very classic silk scarf (50p).
