Signs of ageing

usual shop 016There comes a certain point in a woman’s fashion-conscious life when she decides that actually, the Boden catalogue isn’t that bad. I have not yet turned into a Tory wife but have taken the leap of faith into middle-aged conservatism with these Boden raffia-soled wedges – £1, unworn, from car boot sale at Poynings, however, so I have not yet yielded to temptation and leafed through the catalogue itself. It worries me that I might actually like quite a few things in it. The other sign of ageing? Buying something identical to an item worn as  a teenager, realising that you looked better in it first time around. Black ’80s pencil skirt with satin waistband,  20p from jumble sale at Ringmer.
