Austere Austrian cardigan

usual-shop-016Geiger, made in Austria, and 20p from a Newick jumble sale. Something very MittelEurope about this; one for my mother, who will like the silver buttons and boxy jacket-like cut. My granny, incidentally, loved the alpaca cardigan and insists that she is ‘saving it for best and for wearing at Christmas’.  Given that she’s 90, this demonstrates a wonderful optimism about just how well-worn the garment is going to get. Good on ‘er. I hope to see that cardigan at the dinner table on Christmas Day 2019.
