Three pairs of jeans (50p each); two too tight, one just about wearable. The smaller pairs (one pair 501s, the other Dior) I’ve already given to C in Crowborough, along with some other clothes I’ve collected for her, lead ropes for her horse and last week’s pair of Indian-design curtains. In return, she gave me two large sacks of wood to fuel my wood-burning stove, enough to keep us warm here for a couple of weeks. I’ve been skip-raiding again as well, and have dragged home armfuls of planks, window-frames and joists to feed the fire. We should see out the winter now without buying any fuel – or turning on the central heating.
The denim smock-top (20p) has gone to AT for his little boy, to be worn with a stripey sailor shirt, I expect.
