SJ and I spontaneously decided to do a garage sale at her place, but unfortunately we didn’t advertise it properly, it tipped down with rain that Sunday, and very few people turned up. I couldn’t even bring myself to take a photo of our wares set out as it was all too depressing. However, I sold SJ some glassware and gave her some mugs, and she sold me this dress (£5). It comes into the category of plain-but-useful, and it will inevitably remind me of a wasted day sitting in the cold and damp in danger of falling out with one of my friends, and of the tedium of futile packing/unpacking the car and then restacking all the crap back up in my own garage. Sorry, SJ, that wasn’t one of my better ideas and I apologise for taking over your space. I did sell a few things, mostly to other friends of mine who popped in to say hello, but the most optimistic slant I can give on the whole enterprise is that we both managed to do a bit of an audit of the stuff we have accumulated.
