Odds and sods, random fabrics

usual-shop-jan-09-028The aftermath of a visit to my grandmother, who has made inroads on sorting out her fabric collection. The golden syrup tins are for K to plant herbs or bulbs in for her stall, and there’s another pair of hand-knitted socks for me. The fabric will go to D in Hastings for her patchwork bags. I took my granny a brand-new pink nightie (from the Groombridge jumble) which she has given to her neighbour. She also gave me back a kilt I’d left for this woman (a retired teacher who is, I believe, dressed entirely by my family), so I could wear it for D&J’s Burns Night party, and did some needlework on the black velvet dress. I have received more than I have given this week, but my granny does need to get rid of more things than she gains. At least if I take her stuff to give to her friends it doesn’t stay in her house for long.
