‘Rockabilly’ suit

M and M called to ask if I wanted their discarded Christmas tree (‘to chop up for your log-burning stove’). Translation: we can’t be bothered to carry it up to the recycling point. Still, I rarely turn down an offer of wood for the fire, and when I arrived to get the tree, M gave me a suit for D. The jacket’s a bit big, the trousers too baggy and it’s more 1980s Ben Elton than a proper retro ‘50s job as M described, but a nice thought; one for I’s shop, I think. It might just look right on a more muscular guy with greasy quiff and old-school tattoos.
